Our History

Meriwether Law LLC was recently founded but flows from the litigation legacy of Harrison, Radeker & Smith P.A., which was originally founded in 1994. Taylor Smith and Rhonda Schaub provide uncompromising dedication to understanding the details of each legal issue and are able to offer representation and consultation of the highest order. Meet Our Legal Team

  • Managing Attorney

    Taylor Smith concentrates his practice in civil litigation, with a particular emphasis on media and internet speech law, freedom of speech, constitutional/civil rights, freedom of information, appeals, false arrest cases, and criminal defense. Taylor currently is attorney for the South Carolina Press Association and its 89 member newspapers.

    Taylor’s work has also included representing clients in criminal defense matters, defamation (slander and libel) cases, privacy cases, freedom of speech, mortgage foreclosure cases (representing debtors and homeowners as well as creditors and lenders), debt collection matters (representing both creditors and debtors), consumer protection cases, and real estate litigation such as quiet title and partition actions.

    Taylor was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in May 2014 and is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court of South Carolina and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. He graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. During pursuit of his undergraduate degree, Taylor wrote for several news publications, including The Gamecock student newspaper and The State newspaper. After graduating, Taylor was a business reporter for the Greenville Journal in Greenville, South Carolina. He returned to Columbia to attend the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2010.

    Taylor is also an adjunct professor of Media Law at the University of South Carolina and is an assistant varsity soccer coach with Brookland-Cayce High School.

  • Paralegal

    Rhonda has been with Harrison Radeker & Smith P.A. since January of 2019 as a Civil Litigation Paralegal and a Notary Public for the State of South Carolina.

    Rhonda graduated from American Military University, magna cum laude, with a Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, a Minor in Political Science, and a Paralegal Certificate in June of 2011. In May of 2019, she graduated from Midland’s Technical College, summa cum laude, with a Paralegal Certificate. In May 2022, she graduated with honors from Washington University in St. Louis’ School of Law with a Master’s degree in Legal Studies.

    She is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, National Society of Leadership and Success, and the Alpha Phi Sigma Criminal Justice Honor Society. Her certifications include WestLaw Fundamentals, LexisNexis, and the National Society of Legal Technology.

    When not at work, Rhonda enjoys traveling with her husband and spending time with her kids and granddaughter.
